It was great to watch a worthy sequel! This doesn't hold back on the violence front but then what were you expecting after the first one. Enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat and feeling glad your watching it from the comfort of your own sofa and not somewhere in the Australian bush!
The actor who plays the baddy Taylor gives plenty of creepiness and menace to the part to keep you glued! I would watch it again and I cant say that for every horror I watch!
Good production values. This might be the only decent horror selection in that red machine.. The aussies have turned into the new horror kings If I made a list of my top 10 horror flicks of the last decade - they'd have at least half of them - Korea would have a couple - we'd have 2 or three.
In the first film one could argue that the set-up took too long. Here, it might not have taken long enough. Also, there's a completely meaningless and unnecessary scene involving kangaroos that really just doesn't fit into the movie at all.

If your squeamish then probably best to avoid but if you like some good old slasher action you wont be disappointed!
This is a really great sequel. Sequels - horror sequels in particular - can often be a let down and I was a little dubious about this one as I loved the first film and wasn't sure how this would work, but they've done a great job of keeping the feel of the first film including the cat-and-mouse suspense while keeping it fresh and have managed to add some extra layers to the film which is now more a mix of action and horror this time around with more insight to Mick as a character which works really well.
He has some brilliant comedy moments which somehow works among the gruesome gore, which is laid on a lot heavier than in the first film. The opening scene is brilliant and will probably let you know there and then if you're going to enjoy it or not, but it's well worth a punt as a standard serial-killer horror at its current price if you're not sure.
Well, if you want a cold unemotional killer, who has the IQ of a neanderthal and is also a racist, then hey, this delivers well. It's a great sequel, and yeah there are people like this in the world, in every country.
Just so happens that in unpopulated Australia you are more likely to get away with it!! It's very tongue in cheek, scary and violent, and although the character is meant to be totally abhorrent, is a perverse way you kind of enjoy his journey.
Films and human nature are weird that way. I enjoyed it for what it is. You'll likely know from the opening sequence whether this is for you or not.
Like the rest of the film, it's unapologetically violent and bloody with an underlying dark humour very dark humour. The film itself then rattles along like an odd mash up of Wolf Creek, Hostel and Duel.
You don't necessarily have to have seen the first Wolf Creek film to know what the game is here. It stands alone reasonably well as a chapter in the blood thirsty life of killer Mick Taylor, here coming across as a bizarre Aussie version of Freddy Krueger with better skin and lamer one liners.
Guns, knives, whips, trucks, lorries, horses, kangaroos!? So if you can get on board with the rabid violence, grisly blood letting and broad humour then there's enough to like here to make it worth a watch.
For me,this is a 4 star film that made a good sequel,but was never likely to live up to the first.
That said,i would be very happy to watch it again, the main character is played well once again. We pick up as the maniac,Mick,makes it clear he doesn't like people bothering him,as 2 annoying cops get on his wrong side only to regret it.
So it opens up having us aware Mick is just as crazy as ever. From there,we get a young German couple who encroach on his turf,one of these unfortunate victims leads on to the what becomes the main story of the film,as a guy who just wants to help out is soon playing a vicious game of cat and mouse.
So we have the poor victim trying to outrun and outsmart Mick. The gore is well done and makes its point that this is an all out horror sequel with more blood and kills.
It doesn't have the tension of the first film,but that is mainly because we know what Mick is all about and this is an extension on how he hates not just the british but anyone he feels doesn't belong on his land,his beloved home of Australia.
There is some tension with the main victim,wondering if he can possibly escape Mick's clutches. Metacritic Reviews.

Edit Did You Know? Trivia Supposedly, there was a back-story on Mick Taylor written in the original script that was supposed to be shown in this film; it revealed more details about Taylor's past explaining what made him become such a sadistic, violent serial killer.
Obviously, the idea was scrapped and nothing about it was ever filmed. Later developments showed this information on Mick Taylor's history would finally be revealed in the series, Wolf Creek Goofs When Mick shoots the police officer in the beginning of the movie, both the front window and the rear window of the police car are intact after the shooting.
