As time goes on, Hotaru begins to develop a close friendship with the rest of the team and hopes to take part in realizing their dream of winning the Top Combat Game TCG , a tournament to decide the best survival game team in Japan.

Although Hotaru tries her best, there are just two little problems: she is absolutely terrible at the game, and Toy Gun Gun doesn't allow female members on their team!

However, Haiji reveals a secret during Kakeru's welcoming party: the apartment is actually the dormitory of the Kansei University Track Club.

He unveils his ultimate goal of participating in the Hakone Ekiden—one of the most prominent university marathon relay races in Japan.

Unfortunately, all the residents apart from Haiji and Kakeru are complete running novices. Worse still, none of the inhabitants are even remotely interested in being involved with Haiji's ridiculous plan!

The rules are simple: one player has to carry the ball past the goalposts across the field while avoiding the other team, who are allowed to use all their force to knock the enemy down.

However, the player can pass to a teammate behind them or kick the ball before they are tackled. Unlike other sports, the game continues even when the person holding the ball is taken down.

Kenji Gion is a short but feisty high school freshman at Kanagawa High School. Right after the school's opening ceremony, he meets the tall and timid Sumiaki Iwashimizu, and the two of them get an invitation to observe the rugby club.

When Gion watches the match, he realizes that even though big and tall guys have an advantage, there are positions for people of all shapes and sizes.

Immediately convinced that he has found a sport he can excel at despite his short stature, he signs up, though Iwashimizu declines.

Im Gegensatz zur üblichen Handlung, dass ein eher schlechter Spieler mit viel Training den Aufstieg zu einem Starspieler schafft, ist Ryoma bereits von Anfang an einer der Topspieler.

Dennoch ist Tennis no Ouji-sama keinesfalls langweilig und schafft es einen in seinen Bann zu ziehen. Dies ist insbesondere der Tiefe und der Entwicklung der Haupt- und Nebencharaktere zu verdanken.

Allein schon die Anzahl der Haupt- und Nebencharakteren von etwa 50 Personen ist bemerkenswert. Zwar gibt es dabei einige recht typische klischeehafte Sportcharaktere aber auch sehr viele einzigartige und besondere Charaktere.

Obwohl es so viele relevante Charaktere gibt, wird es geschafft, eigentlich jeden besonders darzustellen und ihm eine gewisse Zeit zu widmen.

Der Anime glänzt zudem mit einer interessanten Handlung. Herzstück der Geschichte sind dabei die Match- und Wettkampf-Episoden.

Diese sind spannend gestaltet und in den Tenniswettkämpfen ist oftmals bis zum Schluss nicht ersichtlich, wer das Match für sich entscheiden kann.

Tennis no Ouji-sama glänzt sowohl mit einer Vielzahl von interessanten Charakteren als auch mit einer interessanten Handlung. Mehrere witzige und entspannendere Episoden zwischendrin lockern das Ganze auf, sodass Langweile oder Eintönigkeit nicht aufkommt.

Es ist daher ein interessanter Sport-Anime der mal nicht den Aufstieg vom ambitionierten Underdog erzählt. Die mit Abstand beliebteste Sportart in Japan ist Baseball.

Neben 2 Profiligen gibt es im ganzen Land kaum Mittel- oder Oberschulen an dem es nicht gespielt wird. Dieser wird nach einem Mittelschul-Baseballspiel von einem Scout eingeladen, an eine Eliteschule für Baseball zu wechseln.

Nach dem er das Angebot angenommen hat und die neue Schule besucht muss er aber feststellen, dass sein Einstieg in das Team nicht so einfach ist wie gedacht.

Um an den Meisterschaften in Koushien teilnehmen zu können und ihr Ziel zu erreichen, die besten im Land zu werden, müssen Eijun und seine Teamkollegen noch viel lernen und trainieren.

Dia no Ace ist wirklich kein Anime der mit einem originellen oder gar einzigartigen Grundkonzept aufwarten kann. Dennoch gehört er zu den besten Sport-Anime.

Grund dafür sind vor allem die interessanten und einprägsamen Charaktere. Der Fokus liegt dabei vor allem auf der Entwicklung jedes Einzelnen individuell, aber auch des Teams und ihren Zusammenhalt an sich.

Daher fällt es auch nicht schwer, sich mit den Charakteren verbunden zu fühlen. Diese oftmals auch witzigen Schulmomente sind ein netter Ausgleich zu den meist recht ernsten Baseballspielen.

Zudem kann Diamond no Ace mit einem guten Soundtrack aufwarten. Bei Dia no Ace handelt es sich eigentlich um einen typischen Sport-Anime.

Daher ist er auch um einiges besser als andere Anime mit einer ähnlichen Geschichte oder Idee. Es mag für manchen etwas dauern bis Dia no Ace in die Gänge kommt, wenn man dem Anime jedoch eine Chance gibt, vermag er einen positiv zu überraschen.

Der Anime hat 11 Folgen und feierte im April Premiere. Die beiden sind zusammen aufgewachsen und spielen bereits seit ihrer Grundschulzeit zusammen Tischtennis.

Der ambitionierte Peco und der wenig motivierte Smile sind beide Mitglieder im lokalen Tischtennisklub und haben ein natürliches Talent für den Sport.

Obwohl die beiden so unterschiedlich vom Charakter sind, sind diese nahezu unzertrennlich. Wie wird die Freundschaft der beiden auf die harte grausame Welt des Sports reagieren, vor allem wenn die beiden als Konkurrenten aufeinandertreffen.

Bereits rein optisch lässt sich bei Ping Pong — The Animation erkennen, dass es sich nicht um irgendein Standardwerk handelt. Der Anime setzt sich sowohl in seinem unorthodoxen Design als auch von seiner Handlung von den meisten Sport-Anime ab.

Dabei bleibt er aber immer realitätsnah und bodenständig. So sehr, dass man fast schon sagen möchte, es handelt sich nicht direkt um einen Sport-Anime als solchen, sondern um eine Geschichte über die Entwicklung und von emotionaler Reife mit Tischtennis als Nebenhandlung.

Im Anime wird auch viel Symbolik verwendet, sodass viele, gerade merkwürdig wirkende, Szenen bei näherer Betrachtung einen tieferen Sinn ergeben.

Nicht zuletzt schafft es auch die Musik, die jeweilige Stimmung perfekt in Szene zu setzen. Ping Pong — The Animation ist ein unkonventionelles und emotionales Werk, bei dem man sich nicht von dem optischen Design abschrecken lassen sollte.

Die Sportart an sich mag mehr im Hintergrund stehen als bei vielen anderen Sport-Anime, dennoch kommt diese nicht zu kurz.

Da er zusätzlich noch in nur 11 Folgen komplett abgeschlossen ist, spricht vieles dafür sich diesen wirklich mal anzuschauen. Für Herbst ist eine dritte Staffel angekündigt.

Nachdem Hinata in seinem letztem und einzigem offiziellen Volleyballspiel seiner Mittelschulzeit eine vernichtende Niederlage gegen das Team von Kageyama erleidet, hat er diesen als seinen Rivalen auserkoren und sinnt auf eine Revanche.

Nachdem er in die Highschool kommt, tritt er zu diesem Zweck daher auch schnellstmöglich dem Karasuno Highschool Volleyball Team bei, das Team das vor Jahren seine Liebe zum Volleyball entflammt hat und in dem sein Idol, der kleine Gigant genannt, einst spielte.

Im Volleyball Klub angekommen muss er aber überraschenderweise feststellen, dass sein Rivale Kageyama nun sein Teamkollege ist.

Sowohl Hinata als auch Kageyama haben Probleme sich ins Team einzufinden. Sich gegenseitig zu helfen und zusammenzuarbeiten scheint dabei der einzige Weg für die beiden zu sein, um im Team anzukommen.

Fokus liegt dabei auf dem ganzen Karasuno Volleyballteam auch wenn Hinata und Kageyama unbestreitbar die Protagonisten sind , dass mit vielen individuellen und sympathischen Charakteren glänzen kann.

Einen Charakter zu finden, der einem wirklich unsympathisch ist, wird den meisten sicherlich schwerfallen. Stärken und Schwächen des Teams, aber auch seine Entwicklung stehen dabei fortwährend im Vordergrund.

Auch der Kontrast zwischen Sieg und Niederlage wird selten in einem Anime so gut dargestellt wie hier. Teilweise geschieht dies so subtil, dass man dies erst im Nachhinein realisiert.

Selten konnte ein Anime Teamgeist so gut vermitteln wie dies bei Haikyuu!! Bei Haikyuu!! Dabei kommt auch nicht die Sportart Volleyball zu kurz.

Einer der wenigen Anime in denen Kameradschaft, Teamgeist und gegenseitige Unterstützung so gut und überzeugend vermittelt wird. Eigentlich jedem zu empfehlen.

Kuroko no Basket ist ein noch relativ aktueller Anime über Basketball aus dem Jahr In Kuroko no Basket geht es zum einen um Tetsuya Kuroko, der gerade sein erstes Jahr an der Seirin Highschool begonnen hat und dort der Basketballmannschaft beitritt.

Mit seiner mangelnden Präsenz und seiner nicht besonders guten körperlichen Konstitution ist es kaum vorstellbar, dass er im selben Team war wie die sogenannte Wundergeneration.

Ein Basketballteam, das 3 Jahre lang in Folge problemlos die Mittelschulmeisterschaften sowie jedes andere Turnier gewonnen hat. Zum anderen geht es um Taiga Kagami, der in derselben Stufe wie Kuroko und auch neu im Basketballteam ist.

Taigas Art, Auftreten und Präsenz stellen das genaue Gegenteil dar von dem blassen und emotionslos wirkenden Kuroko.

Zusammen mit dem Team der Seirin versuchen die beiden die Meisterschaft zu gewinnen und dabei insbesondere die Mitglieder der Wundergeneration, die nun jeder in einem eigenen Team sind, in ihre Schranken zu weisen.

Kuroko no Basket ist ein typischer Sport-Anime über eine junge Mannschaft, die alles gibt um ihr Ziel, das beste Team von ganz Japan zu werden, zu erreichen.

Die Art wie sein Charakter gestaltet ist, prädestiniert ihn eigentlich für die Rolle einer Nebenfigur. Auch seine Art Basketball zu spielen zeichnet ihn eher als Unterstützer aus.

Neben Kuroko und seinem Gegenpol Taiga, kann der Anime aber auch mit einer Fülle von einzigartigen Charakteren aufwarten, von denen jeder Einzelne bestimmte Eigenarten und Fähigkeiten aufweist.

Im Gegensatz zu Haikyuu!! Die Spiele sind meist sehr temporeich und dynamisch gestaltet, was insbesondere auch die Animationen gut vermitteln.

Kuroko no Basket ist ein sehenswerter und spannender Basketball-Anime mit einer linearen Story und besonderen Charakteren.

Er ist daher jedem zu empfehlen, der mit Basketball zumindest ein klein wenig anfangen kann und nicht zu sehr auf Realitätsnähe beharrt. Bei One Outs handelt es sich um eine stark vereinfachte Version von Baseball, die wohl eher mit einem Glücksspiel als einem Sport zu vergleichen ist.

Dort wird er auch von dem Profibaseballspieler Hiromichi Kojima entdeckt und von diesem überredet der Baseballmannschaft Lycaons beizutreten.

Dieser soll dem seit längerem erfolglosen Team zu neuem Glanz verhelfen. Für jedes Out das Tokuchi beim Gegner erreicht erhöht sich sein Jahresgehalt um 5 Millionen Yen, aber für jeden Punkt, den der Gegner erzielt während er wirft, schuldet er dem Inhaber 50 Millionen Yen.

One Outs ist neben Dia no Ace ein weiterer Anime der sich mit der Sportart Baseball auseinandersetzt und trotzdem könnten die beiden nicht verschiedener sein.

In One Outs geht es nicht um die Liebe zum Sport oder wie eine Mannschaft ihr bestes gibt, sondern eher um strategische Feinheiten. Dabei wird der Sport auf eine taktische und geistige Ebene gehoben.

Der Protagonist Tokuchi ist eigentlich kein besonders guter und talentierter Baseballspieler, was sich auch an seinen stark begrenzten Techniken zeigt.

Vielmehr ist in ihm ein Glücksspieler zu sehen, der auch nur zu diesem Zweck den Sport betreibt. Neben Tokuchi zeichnet sich der Rest der Charakter eher durch Statistenrollen aus.

Ausnahmen bilden da nur seine Gegenspieler, die zumindest für einen kleinen Zeitraum von Bedeutung sind. Besonders störend ist dies jedoch nicht. One Outs ist weitaus mehr als ein normaler Sport-Anime.

Es handelt sich bei ihm eher um eine Art psychologischer Thriller über Baseball und seine Spieler. One Outs gehört daher auch zu den Anime der besonderen Sorte und bietet die perfekte Abwechslung zu den üblichen Sport-Anime.

Zudem gehören mehrere Filme zum Merchandise. Nach dem er in der Mittelschule bereits mal in Folge bei der holden Weiblichkeit einen Korb kassiert hat, versucht er nun verzweifelt in der Highschool eine Freundin zu finden.

Sein schlechter Ruf führt jedoch dazu, dass er von den meisten Mitschülern gemieden wird. Eines Tages spricht ihn jedoch das Mädchen Haruko Akagi an, dass anscheinend seinen Ruf nicht kennt und in das er sich Hals über Kopf verliebt.

Um sie zu beeindrucken, tritt er daraufhin dem Basketballklub der Schule bei.
